It doesn’t change your handwriting into text on the page, it just opens a separate window that you can copy and paste from. Not going to lie, I hated Scribble, so it’s off now, but I still like the OCR within the app. GoodNotes both has built in handwriting recognition and supports Scribble. There is an option to add a text box, which allows you to type, and it even adjusts to how much you type (the box grows in size as you add more words). It works nicely in that it disappears and lets the user freely take notes. I occasionally open GoodNotes on my iPhone to refer to a note, but I don’t use my finger to take notes on its small screen. This is a great note taking app that acts as a blank slate. To my mind, the Apple Pencil is indispensable to any note-taking app, including GoodNotes.

GoodNotes 5: What I don't like I realize that GoodNotes is designed specifically for note-taking, but sometimes, I just want to type in a notebook instead.
